Have you always been a writer?

Yes! Although I haven’t always written romance novels. I’ve done not-so-sexy professional and technical writing over the years - user guides, blogs, project overviews, and online courses.

And I’ve always been a storyteller. When I paint, each painting tells a story or captures a family memory. I create themed events for children and adults with stories expressed through visual elements, costumes, activities, and food.

Why romance?

Because everybody deserves a happily-ever-after. Or at least someone who loves them for who they are. Someone who has seen them at their worst but chooses to think of them at their best. A friend, companion, lover, and partner.

I’m from Pittsburgh, home of Fred Rogers. And to paraphrase Mr. Rogers, everyone needs someone to look at them and say, “I like you just the way you are.”

Why Formula 1 romances?

Why not?! I’ve been a secondary fan (the person snoozing on the couch while the primary fan - my husband - watches). After 30+ years, I’ve absorbed a lot of F1 racing! I’m excited that the audience is growing in the United States, especially among women.

Also, let’s be honest: a handful of good-looking, fit guys, who travel to glamorous destinations and make wads of money for driving fast, dangerous cars on a weekly basis? When you add in the human drama, the stories write themselves…

What do you do when you aren’t writing?

Hike, read, paint, bake, annoy my adult children.

How did you get your start?

In 2025, I responded to a Harlequin “Pitch Call” requesting story pitches for a romance featuring a billionaire, a Mediterranean destination wedding, and mistaken identity. It was like those cooking shows that require a contestant to whip something up with three random ingredients and an immersion blender. So I cooked up Nikos, the F1 driver, and Olivia, a girl who grew up in Pittsburgh and needs to create a cookie table for her best friend’s Monte Carlo wedding. (Cookie Tables are a Western PA thing - check out my blog post ‘What is a Cookie Table?’).

Harlequin liked the 500-word pitch and asked for a first chapter and outline. I figured that in the time they allotted, I could write the whole book. So I did. And when they read the first chapter, they asked for more. I had the manuscript ready to go! And the rest, as they say, is history.

What’s Next?

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been contracted to write six books for Harlequin Romance! At least three will be set in the F1 world - including a Christmas story, “Plus-One to an Italian Christmas”! I’m also taking part in a four-book continuity series in which four writers will each contribute a story!
